Backflow Testing

To work on backflow prevention assemblies one must be licensed by the American Waterworks Association (AWWA) or American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). Various water purveyors accept different licensing. In order to obtain a license one must attend professional training classes, earn enough contact hours, and demonstrate their knowledge and skills by passing a performance examination.

About our Backflow Testers

Backflow technicians are required to recertify and take the written and hands-on tests to prove their continued knowledge, abilities, and experience every three years.

Backflow Team technicians are fully certified and licensed by the American Waterworks Association (AWWA) as required by California state law.  They have completed a thorough internal training program, lasting approximately six months, and are licensed as well in various counties, cities, health departments and water purveyors that allows us to work across many parts of California. As a result our technicians apply their technical skills to perform outstanding backflow testing, repair, or replacement services for our customers.

Backflow devices must be tested with a backflow gauge. The MidWest gauge used by our technicians is calibrated and serviced annually to ensure accuracy. All backflow testing must be performed accurately, and the backflow documentation to the water supplier must be completed.
